Is it really legal to smoke weed?

Yes! Irrelevant to what you have read in the newspapers in your home country – it is legal to buy and smoke weed in Thailand. But just like with alcohol, it comes with a few rules you need to know.

First of all, you need to be 20 years old and not pregnant or breastfeeding. Along with this, you are not allowed to smoke in public. You CAN NOT smoke weed on the street, outside the restaurant or anywhere else your smoke can disturb someone. If you disturb people you can be fined or even put in jail. So respect people around you!

Indica, Sativa or a Hybrid strain?

Sativa – The daytime choice

Sativas give you a “head high” which means you are more prone to laughing, talking and getting weird (or smart!) ideas. Many people choose to smoke a Sativa strain during the day to increase creativity or when they go to a party to become more talkative.

Sativas comes with a range of subtle differences which an experienced smoker can feel but for beginners, you will most likely just feel energized and happy. If you want to be sure you buy a popular Sativa, choose one which has “Haze” in its name.

Indica – Your couch buddy

Indicas are great if you want to ease anxiety, fall asleep or decrease pain. The effects are more commonly felt in the body which makes you feel more relaxed. Many people don’t like smoking Indica during the day since it can make them lethargic. Instead, it's great if you want to relax at home watching Netflix, before a long flight or on any other occasion when you just want to chill.

The most popular strains have the name “Kush” in them which plays on the region Indica originally came from – The Hindu Kush mountains.

Hybrid – Up to you!

Hybrid strains are man-made by crossing a Sativa with an Indica strain. The effects are dependent on which strains you have mixed and therefore it's recommended to read up before you buy. Today, most weed strains are hybrids because farmers cross them not only for their effects but also to make them more resistant to bugs and other plant diseases when they are grown.

Where is the weed sourced from?

Currently, a lot of the THC weed sold in Thailand is imported from the United States and Canada. What you need to know before you order

Even if weed feels harmless, there are a few things you should know before you decide to buy and smoke weed. If you have a low tolerance or have not smoked top-shelf weed before we recommend buying a strain with less than 20% THC. You will only need a few puffs and you will literally melt away.

The weed you buy at Bloom is very strong so start small and gradually increase the THC. Here are some additional points you should know:

• 20+ - Smoking weed as underage is not good for your character or your brain. Be strong and say no.
• Don't smoke & drive - Do NOT smoke and drive a motorcycle or car after you have smoked. Wait till the next day. It is illegal to smoke & drive.
• Mental illness - If you or your family have a history of mental illnesses we recommend you stay away from smoking weed.
• Medications - If you are on heavy medications, especially sedatives, antidepressants, anti-anxiety, seizure, stomach, and anticoagulants – don’t do it.

Which strain should I buy as a beginner?

As a first-time or beginner smoker, we recommend going with a strain with less than 15% THC.

Why is the marijuana so expensive?

Is the cannabis grown organically?

Sorry to say but no. All the cannabis is grown in very high-tech environments with added nutrients. Often as hydroponics.

Some people do, but all types of vaporizers are illegal in Thailand.

Is there any cannabis logo or other detail on the package which could tell its content?
